Reliable, commercial grade navigation requires on-board data and functionality. NaviGenie™ provides an efficient API and data format to provide location based functions on the device.
Off-board data
Instant access to the latest maps can save time, money and sometimes lives. Using NaviGenie with off-board data means clients need no storage and painfully long map downloads. Whenever network connection is available all NaviGenie functions can be accessed from multiple NaviGenie servers around the world.
Mixed mode functionality
On-board and off-board datasets can be used paralelly and inter-changeably. The SDK can switch between datasources real-time, whichever is more efficient. This creates endless possibilities, like:
- Incremental map updates without distrupting functionality on the client side.
- Small initial application size with full functionality from the first moment.
- Mixing and separation of on-board and off-board functions (geometry on-board, routing off-board etc.)
